ABOUT BWICA

Our main mission is EDUCATION, INFORMATION and ADVOCACY in the Brooklyn community on issues that concern seniors.

For over 40 years, Brooklyn-wide Interagency Council of the Aging (BWICA) has served as the umbrella organization for Brooklyn’s 17 interagency councils for the aging.

BWICA provides education and leadership training to Brooklyn’s seniors and their families on issues such as Healthcare, Income Security, Patient’s Rights, Senior Services in the Community, Programs.

As a consumer-driven advocacy organization representing Brooklyn seniors, BWICA’s effectiveness is a result of the active seniors who participate in borough-wide and local council education, network programs that champion the improvement of the quality of life for seniors and disabled persons on federal, state and local levels.
